The 47th edition of the Istanbul Jewellery Show concluded on a high note, with the number of worldwide visitors rising 22% to 18,953 compared to the same period last year, wrote JNA. The Istanbul Jewellery Show is organised twice a year in March and October.
“Our exhibition is a source of pride for us since it helps facilitate around 80 percent of Turkey’s jewellery exports. Aware of the fact that every Istanbul Jewelry Show is a major gateway that opens our jewellery industry to the world and makes significant contributions to our national economy, we’ve already started working hard to make even greater achievements in 2019” said Sermin Cengiz, founding partner of UBM Rotaforte in Turkey. An international buyer delegation programme resulted in business meetings among trade professionals from Europe, the Middle East, the US, North Africa and the Far East throughout the exhibition.
More than 800 exhibitors displayed a wide range of products including gold jewellery, diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls, silver, silver jewellery, and machinery and equipment, among others, according to fair organiser UBM Asia Ltd.
51% of the buyers were from Turkey and 49% were foreigners. The number of foreign buyers increased 39% and local visitors rose 10%.
